What is Patreon
Patreon is an American-based membership platform that offers business tools for patrons and content creators to manage a subscription service. Patreon supports artists and creators and helps them to earn a monthly income by providing various perks and rewards to their subscribers. Patreon has changed a commission of 5 to 12 per cent of users' monthly income, besides to payment that processes fees.
n addition, Patreon is used by YouTube users, such as videographers, writers, webcomic artists, podcasters, adult content creators, musicians, and many other categories of content creators who regularly post online. The platform of Patreon enables content creators to get funding right away from their fans, or even from their patrons, repeatedly or for each work of art. In 2013, the company came into use by musician Jack Conte and content developer Sam Yam, who based the firm in San Francisco.
How Patreon works
For content creators, Patreon is considered as a way to get paid for creating the things a user is already creating (for example, videos, webcomics, songs, or whatevs). Fans usually pay a few bucks each month or even for each post content creator releases through Patreon. As a result, the creator gets paid monthly, or sometimes every time he or she releases something new on the platform.
As for patrons, Patreon is a platform where they can join their favourite creator's community, enjoy content and pay creators for making the things you enjoy seeing. Instead of throwing money at your screen, you can simply pay a little money monthly or for each post. For example, if you have to pay $2 for each published video, and the content creator publishes 3 videos in one month, then you get charged a total of $6 for that one month. Meaning that you become a real0time, bonafide patron for that content creator and in response, he or she gets paid per time he or she releases stuff on the platform.
